Every organization’s talent strategy now has a technology dimension. The assessments a company relies on, the systems its people work in, and the AI agents starting to take on real work all shape how a workforce performs. That is why we are launching Lever Talent's Technology Practice, and why we are proud to share that Jitesh Doshi has joined us as our CTO in Residence and Head of Technology Practice. The practice completes the three pillars Lever Talent uses to help leaders build a co-intelligent workforce, aligning their technology, programs, and people to their business strategy.
Jitesh brings over 25 years of software development experience, most of it spent on one of the hardest problems in enterprise technology: getting systems and data to work together. We sat down with him to talk about his background, what he will lead at Lever Talent, and what the Technology Practice means for our clients.
Jitesh started his career writing C and C++ in Unix environments before moving into web, mobile, and enterprise systems. The constant through it all has been integration: moving data out of the systems where it is created and into the hands of the people, processes, and now AI agents that need it to make better decisions.
That background matters more now than ever. "All businesses are undergoing some level of transformation with AI, and the quality and connectedness of your data is the key differentiator," Jitesh says. "Collecting, conditioning, storing, and securing your data, and now ensuring it supports your evolved systems and AI workflows, is critical to ensuring a high AI ROI.”
As the founder of SpinSpire, a software development agency, Jitesh has served clients across insurance technology, mortgage finance, consumer apparel, and government, including the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of the Treasury. One of the projects he is proudest of is helping stand up the current version of irs.gov in 2017. He has also led development projects for Nike, solving a challenge many organizations face when building consumer applications. "We had to work within strict budgets and still reach every user where they are, without paying to build separate applications for web, Android, iOS, and desktop," Jitesh says. "It was extremely challenging, but a lot of fun."
Jitesh holds two roles at Lever Talent. As CTO in Residence, he is the senior technology voice across every client engagement and program the firm delivers, advising clients directly on how their technology should support their talent strategy. As Head of the Technology Practice, he leads delivery of our technology engagements, including application and systems development, agentic workflow design, and software integrations across HR and productivity technology stacks. He also guides the evolution of Lever Talent's internal systems and workflows, ensuring the firm continues to practice what it advises as an AI-native company.
Jitesh and Lever Talent Founder and CEO Drew Fortin were introduced by a mutual friend, and their partnership was proven before it was made official. "We completed some significant projects together, which was a great way to get to know one another,” Jitesh says. "Drew and I share a passion for helping businesses scale with technology. I’m fascinated by our workforce orchestrator vision to help companies navigate their human-AI workforce transformation. As technology and human resources become increasingly intertwined, I realized I could help advance this evolution more at Lever Talent than on my own."
Jitesh believes every consulting firm needs a technology practice "because every solution, no matter which functional domain you are operating within, has a unique technology dimension to it." Each wave of technology, from the personal computer to the internet to AI, has pushed that dimension deeper into every function, and the HR function is no exception.
The difference is fit. Every organization has its own industry, clients, and culture, and technology advice that ignores that context falls short. Without it, Jitesh says, you get "good technology advice, but somewhat disassociated from your own environment." A technology practice built specifically around a function, with complementary services across strategic advisory and people strategy, he argues, "is guaranteed to deliver better results for clients than solutions that are purely tech."
Lever Talent helps leaders align their technology, programs, and people to their business strategy. The Technology Practice joins Lever Talent’s Programs Practice, led by Aaron Adams, Vice President of Professional Services, and its People Practice, led by Tracie Sponenberg, Chief People Officer in Residence and Head of Fractional HR, completing the three pillars. The firm's technology work now spans strategic technology partnerships, like The Predictive Index, HR tech selection and implementation, integrations, and, increasingly, application and agentic workflow development.
Jitesh explained how client needs move freely between the three pillars. A talent strategy or strategic HR engagement will often surface a technology need, and a technology project will often uncover those program and people project needs. "Every solution requires some combination of all three pillars," he says. "At Lever Talent, I'm proud to say we can truly deliver a complete solution."
Lever Talent’s Co-Intelligent Workforce Report shows that companies that view workforce transformation with AI as a holistic endeavor across technology, programs, and people see over 8x greater value from their AI investments than those who view it as a purely technological endeavor.
As AI agents take on more work, Jitesh sees a clear division of labor. AI can search through and compile huge amounts of information, and AI coding agents can implement all kinds of code, but people bring something different,” Jitesh said.
"Humans provide the best judgment. A lot of context is implied. There will always be some level of implicit context that only humans have in their heads and in their culture…AIdoesn't live in that same world. Humans will provide judgment, they will provide implicit context, and they will serve as the values system.I don't see that changing anytime soon., he said"
For executives and HR leaders investing in technology for their workforce, Jitesh warns against both extremes. "It is very tempting to either jump deep into AI, and it's also very tempting to completely stay out of it and say, we'll wait and see," he says. Jitesh warns against falling into either extreme. His advice starts with people. "Trust your people. That is very important. While waiting on the sidelines is not an option, the institutional knowledge and experience your people have from running your business far exceed what any AI workflow can offer from the start. Remind your teams of this and use it to empower them to scale their impact with AI,” said Jitesh.
At Lever Talent, we advise focusing more on establishing common governance and AI deployment frameworks versus strictly on technology literacy. It’s through this balanced approach of strategic application- what we call AI fluency- and AI literacy that businesses will achieve maximum impact. "
"I have no doubt that we have enough experience to do what needs to be done from a technology standpoint,” Jitesh said of Lever Talent’s technology capabilities. In these early days, he is focused on meeting as many clients as possible to assess their needs and complete a round of pilot projects. These pilots will help create scalable solutions tailored to each client’s needs and budget, delivering positive ROI.
