Frequently Asked Questions
The Predictive Index behavioral assessment is a science-backed, untimed assessment that measures four core drives — dominance, extraversion, patience, and formality — to predict how a person naturally works. It takes about six minutes: respondents check adjectives that describe them, and the results map to a validated behavioral pattern you can use for hiring, team design, and management.
DISC is a useful communication-style tool, but it was built for self-awareness, not selection. Most DISC instruments aren't validated for hiring decisions. The Predictive Index is designed for the workplace and scientifically validated for candidate selection: it pairs behavioral data with job targets, so you can match candidates to what a role actually requires.
Predictive Index is priced as an annual software subscription based on your company's employee count, so the cost varies by size. All purchased subscriptions include use of hiring, management, and strategic alignment tools. Working with a certified partner doesn't raise the software price. Book a call, and we'll scope both the subscription and the implementation support that fits your team.
Reference profiles are shorthand for the 17 most common behavioral patterns PI measures — names like Maverick, Persuader, Operator, and Collaborator that summarize how a person is naturally driven to work. They make behavioral data usable in everyday conversation, though the underlying drive scores are what you should use for hiring and team decisions.
Yes — when roles have validated job targets, you hire people whose natural drives match the work, which is a leading driver of retention. In our client validity studies, hires matching a validated behavioral target have been associated with measurably stronger performance outcomes, and we offer additional services to run those studies for clients who want their own proof.
Yes — PI connects to common ATS and HRIS platforms through native integrations and its API. MCP connectors for your preferred AI tools are also available. As a firm that implements HR software and builds custom applications and integrations, we also connect PI's behavioral intelligence to the rest of your stack, including the AI tools your team is adopting.
The software is the same — what changes is everything around it: senior consultants who design your job targets, train your managers, run your team sessions, and turn assessment data into hiring and leadership decisions. We support hundreds of active PI clients, from 50-person companies to global enterprises, with account management, validity studies, workshops, and ongoing advisory services that software alone doesn't deliver.
